A video doorbell combines a camera, call button, microphone and network connection. A wired installation may use an existing bell transformer or a new compatible power supply, while battery models still depend on strong wireless coverage and periodic charging.
Useful installation considers viewing angle, visitor height, privacy, night image, chime operation, cable route and who owns the account. A neat physical installation cannot compensate for weak Wi-Fi at the front door.
