Battery storage captures electricity from solar generation or the grid and releases it later. A system may reduce imported energy, support time-of-use tariffs or provide selected backup functions when designed for that purpose.
Capacity in kilowatt-hours, power in kilowatts and usable operating modes are different decisions. Location, fire safety, temperature, noise, inverter compatibility, metering and what should happen during a power cut all need to be agreed.

Battery Storage Installation questions
Can a battery be added to any solar system?
Often, using AC- or DC-coupled arrangements, but inverter compatibility and existing design must be checked.
Will it run an electric shower in a blackout?
Large loads may exceed backup output. Essential circuits are usually selected deliberately.
Can the battery charge from the grid?
Many systems can, subject to product capability, settings, tariff and network requirements.
