Home energy monitoring measures electricity flowing through the whole supply or selected circuits. It can show when large loads operate, how much solar is generated or exported and whether battery or EV schedules behave as expected.
A monitor does not directly identify every appliance. Whole-house systems often infer usage from changes in demand, while circuit-level metering provides more definite separation but needs additional sensors and distribution-board space.
