
About this service
Electric underfloor heating uses a cable or mat beneath the finished floor, controlled by a thermostat and floor sensor. It is commonly used for bathrooms, kitchens and smaller renovated areas where comfortable floor temperature is valued.
The heating element must be designed around the free floor area. It cannot be cut to length arbitrarily, crossed or placed beneath unsuitable fixed furniture. Electrical resistance and insulation tests are required before covering, during installation and after the floor finish is complete.

We exclude fixed units, check floor construction and select a system for the room.
Install and test in stages
Mat or cable, sensor and cold tails are positioned, with readings recorded before covering.
Connect after floor completion
The thermostat and circuit are commissioned only after the adhesive or screed curing period required by the manufacturer.

What affects the price?
The price depends on the existing installation and the amount of work required. For electric underfloor heating, the main factors normally include:

Electric Underfloor Heating questions
Can it be the only heat source?
Possibly in a well-insulated room if the calculated output meets heat loss. It is often used as comfort heating.
What happens if a cable is damaged?
Specialist test equipment can locate some concealed faults, but prevention and staged readings are far better.
Can it go under every floor finish?
Only with a system and temperature control suitable for that finish and manufacturer guidance.
