Cooker and hob installation covers the fixed electrical supply, local connection and isolation for ovens, electric cookers, range appliances and induction hobs. The appliance rating and manufacturer instructions determine whether it can share a circuit or needs a dedicated supply.
An existing cooker point does not guarantee that every replacement appliance is suitable. Cable size, circuit protection, connection unit rating, diversity and any combined load from multiple appliances must be assessed.
