An electrical emergency is a fault that presents an immediate safety risk or leaves essential parts of a property without power. Common examples include burning smells, visible arcing, electric shocks, water entering electrical equipment, damaged incoming equipment and repeated tripping that cannot be safely isolated.
The first visit is about making the situation safe, locating the likely source and restoring only what can be returned to service safely. A permanent repair may be completed at the same visit or quoted separately when parts, drying time or further investigation are required.

Overheated connections, damaged equipment and overloaded circuits can produce a sharp or fishy smell before visible damage becomes obvious.
Complete or partial loss of power

Restore or arrange the repair
Power is restored only where test results support it. We explain any temporary isolation and the work needed for a permanent repair.

What information should I give when I call?

Can power always be restored immediately?
No. If a circuit or item of equipment fails safety tests, it must stay isolated until repaired.
Is an appliance fault an electrical emergency?
It can be if there is heat, smoke, damage or an electric-shock risk. Unplug it only if the plug and socket are cool and safe to reach.
